When I first cracked open the packaging for this Black Mountain Side review, I got hit with a potent earthy smell with hints of citrus.

Once you actually combust the strain, the deep earthy herbal taste punches your tongue while some nice spice takes up the rear. I have to say, I was super impressed with this strain’s overall flavour, especially seeing as I have never tried any of EXKA’s products before.

The aroma was much more of the same, with a rich earthy smell – however, I also found it gave off a mild, skunky aroma.

EXKA is really impressed here with their Black Mountain Side strain, I was impressed by the nice herbal taste.

Throughout my time smoking this strain, Black Mountain Side consistently offered a mood-elevating and overall uplifting high. Seeing as the THC sits at 30.4%, it also has absolutely no issues knocking my socks off and really getting me stoned.

After you first inhale, you will begin to feel your stress and anxieties melt away, before you settle into a happy and giggly daze.

Unlike some other weed, you really don’t have to smoke more than one or two bowls before you get honestly really high. If you’re an everyday smoker like me and are looking for some stress relief and a decently happy high, Black Mountain Side might hit the spot.

Is EXKA’s Black Mountain Side a Good Value Strain?

Whether or not this strain is a good deal really comes down to what your tolerance level is, and how much you usually smoke. This is because I found I had to smoke much less of this flower than I usual to achieve a decently stoned state.

While it’s no bargain bin weed, EXKA isn’t going to make you break the bank, and you should be able to smoke much less in each sitting. Because of this, I would say that it’s a decently good value strain.

Bud Quality

EXKA really showed their pride in their product with this one, as the buds were compact, soft, and decently moist.

The beautiful green, black, and orange colorings sit perfectly beneath a layer of rich trichomes. That’s all to say, It was some nice bud.

Is EXKA’s Black Mountain Side a Strong Strain?

As you might guess if you have read this far, Black Mountain Side is strong. Sitting at 30.4% THC, it really makes its presence known after the first inhale, taking you on a 2-hour ride.

I would say this is one of the more potent cannabis strains I have had the pleasure of reviewing as of late, this Happy Hour strain really did the trick. Just be aware, that it’s not an infused product.

Would I purchase This Strain Again?

After smoking the full 3.5 grams of flower, I would have to say that although this was a great Sativa-dominant strain, I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

I personally loved the overall high, but I had two bouts of quite severe anxiety/dread while smoking this strain. I fully understand that comes with a potent strain, but this was odd, especially considering I smoke often.
